Giulio Bernardi
(Trieste) is a collector, a professional numismatist and a scholar of medieval
coinage.
His essays include Monetazione del Patriarcato di Aquileia, Trieste 1975 and Il
Duecento a Trieste.
Le monete, Trieste 1995. Over the years, his interest as a scholar and collector
focused on the islamic coinage, that has been the key topic of several articles,
80 (2001), pp. 131-137.
Now, at long last, the world of Islamic numismatics has been provided with a
comprehensive compilation and guide to the first period of Islamic gold coinage
from the time of the Umayyad caliph ‘Abd al-Malik bin Marwn until the deposition
of the Abbasid caliph al-Mustakfi in 334 Hijra (946 CE). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
