This book presents scholars a comprehensive analysis of the local coinage that circulated in Palestine from the death of Arcadius until the time of the Arab conquest in the 640s.

Gabriela Bijovsky: Curator at the Coin Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority for the last 23 years, she has also collaborated on the publication of numismatic reports of several excavations conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and by academic institutions in the United States. The author has written a number of significant numismatic studies that focus on typology, coin circulation, coin distribution and iconography of Roman Provincial and Byzantine coins.
