To respond to the increase in sea-borne container trade and to decrease the working costs in a container terminal, it is necessary to improve the use of existing areas by introducing new Storage techniques and new working methods. This paper introduces a prototype and a part of its validation process for this issue. It gives highlights on the discrete simulation object model and its implementation used far the management of a container terminal.
