The contribution offers a paradigmatic example of educational research applied to the design of laboratory activities dedicated to food education. The articulated training course proposed enhances the synergistic contribution of scientific and humanistic disciplines in a heuristic perspective and represents an organic systematization of consolidated teaching experiences undertaken in secondary schools. The case studies proposed, which were carefully selected, are intended to promote conscious food choices for a healthy lifestyle in students.
Physics textbooks affect teaching methods. They provide teachers with content management, curriculum design, and materials to build students’ learning abilities and have a crucial role in the teaching-learning process, as teachers recognise. However, Physics textbooks sometimes limit teachers’ efforts to innovate Physics teaching strategies. “College Physics - Explore and Apply” is a Physics textbook based on the ISLE (Investigative Science Learning Environment) approach. This book is more than a simple textbook: it illustrates a completely new approach towards Physics and presents an innovative teaching-learning Physics process. Teachers who have adopted this approach and the associate textbook will never go back to the oldest teaching methods.
