Il volume presenta una scelta di canzoni di Bulat Okudžava e di Aleksandr Galič, tradotte dal curatore in lingua slovena. Vengono inoltre pubblicate le traduzioni in lingua slovena di alcune canzoni popolari russe, recuperate negli anni '70 dalla cantante Žanna Bičevskaja. Completano la selezione le traduzioni di due popolari melodie del periodo sovietico. Per tutte le traduzioni viene riportato il testo a fronte. Il volume ha avuto il patrocinio dell'associazione culturale slovena "Društvo Slovenija-Rusija" e del P.E.N. club sloveno (Slovenski center P.E.N.).

The volume presents a selection of songs by Bulat Okudžava and Aleksandr Galič, translated by the editor into Slovene. It also contains Slovene translations of a number of Russian folk songs, revisited in the 1970s by the singer Žanna Bičevskaja. The collection is completed by two popular melodies from the Soviet era. Each translation has the original text alongside it. The book was produced with the patronage of the Društvo Slovenija-Rusija cultural association and the Slovene P.E.N. club (Slovenski center P.E.N.).

Ivan Verč is full professor of Russian Language and Literature at the University of Trieste (Italy). The main field of his research, with particular attention to Russian literature, are theory of literature (formalism, structuralism, semiotics) and the figure of the subject in the historical, poetological and ethical dimensions of literary works (see his latest monograph: Razumevanje jezikov književnosti, Ljubljana: ZRC SAZU 2010). He has also published essays on the works of Dostoevsky, Pilnjak, Pushkin and Platonov. Since 1994 he has contributed to the international series Slavica TERgestina (Trieste, Italy; Ljubljana, Slovenia; Konstanz, Germany) and is member of the Advisory Boards of journals Primerjalna kniževnost (Ljubljana, Slovenia), Europa Orientalis (Salerno, Italy), Lingue e Linguaggi (Lecce, Italy) and Vestnik molodyh učenyh, Filologičeskie nauki (St. Petersburg, Russia).
