Programma

Il 24 giugno si è tenuto presso l’Aula Bachelet dell’Università degli Studi di Trieste il seminario dedicato al ruolo chiave che la cooperazione e la formazione accademica rivestono nel contribuire al miglioramento delle condizioni di vita nei paesi a limitate risorse economiche.
 
L’incontro è stato l’occasione non solo per porre nella massima attenzione la pluralità di tematiche legate agli obiettivi generali della Cooperazione allo sviluppo e il quadro di riferimento in materia di diritto allo studio nei paesi a limitate risorse economiche, ma anche per mettere a confronto le esperienze e le riflessioni dei protagonisti dello scenario, ovvero i rappresentanti degli studenti, le studiose e gli studiosi della comunità scientifica, gli operatori del mondo delle organizzazioni umanitarie.
 
L’evento, che ha visto la partecipazione di Relatrici e Relatori dell’Università di Trieste e di Udine, è stato curato dalla dott.ssa Elisabetta Scala in collaborazione con l’Ufficio Divulgazione Scientifica di Ateneo.

    The Seminar under the theme “Education Can Change the World. Addressing Equal Opportunities and The Right to Access to Higher Education in Least Developed Countries” took place at the University of Trieste, on 24 June 2016, from 9.00 am to 13.00 pm. The event was opened by an introduction of Dr Elisabetta Scala, Member of the Equal Opportunities Board of the University of Trieste and Research Fellow at Department of Engineering and Architecture, who ideated and organized the event in collaboration with the Office for Scientific Communication and Knowledge Transfer Services of the University of Trieste. The event was packed full of interesting speeches across a range of important disciplines related to the educational priorities in LDCs and International Cooperation for sustainable development related issues, all featuring referents from across disciplines and approaches to face the main challenges of our contemporary world, discussing about LDC’ students environment, civil society organisations and the role of Regional and National Governmental authorities. Referents expressed their common understanding regarding the crucial role that the right to access higher education for the most economically vulnerable world youth, especially for young girls, can play in combating poverty and inequalities in LDCs. With these common points of interests referents shared ideas and discussed key elements in on-going projects and in new ways to operate and go forward, inspiring each other to work together to foster education for global citizenship.
