The Quadra series is designed to provide an overview of the research developed within the Architecture curriculum of the PhD course in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture, jointly established by the Università di Trieste and Università di Udine since the 2015-16 academic year. Characterised by strong interdisciplinarity, the curriculum encompasses a range of study fields, including architectural and urban design, urban and landscape planning and design, architectural representation, technical architecture, and economic evaluation of plans, projects, and policies. Under the broader framework of economic, social, economic, and cultural sustainability, as well as climate change adaptation and resilience, the PhD programme focuses on the enhancement and transformation of territories and the built environment, through the integration of different theoretical and operational tools and scales of intervention.
The books of the Quadra series present research investigations, their methodological approaches and results. With contributions from former PhD students and their supervisors, they aim is to provide an overview of the PhD programme as a space of critical research, debate, and continuous exploration of architectural and planning theory and practice.
