The Journal
Tigor. Rivista di scienze della comunicazione e di argomentazione giuridica (e-ISSN: 2035-584X) is a scientific, online, biannual, and open access journal that originates from the teaching and research experience of the first-level Master's program in Analysis and Management of Communication, which has been active for over a decade at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Trieste. The journal, published since 2009, today represents the editorial expression of the Research Center on Communication and Legal Methodology and Argumentation (CERCOMAG), established at the Department of Humanities of the University of Trieste, and is published by EUT - University of Trieste Press.
The editorial initiative benefits from the collaboration of the Research Center on Legal Methodology (CERMEG) based at the University of Trento and the Research Group on Normativity of the University of Udine, consolidating a network of expertise that has united communication operators and scholars for years in an interdisciplinary perspective. The name "Tigor" recalls the toponym that designates the historic headquarters of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Trieste, symbolizing the journal's territorial roots and its openness to dialogue with the diverse world of communication.
Since 2013, with the inauguration of the second series, the Journal has expanded its subtitle by adding specific reference to legal argumentation, recognizing how legal reflection is intimately interconnected with the world of communication and how the legal document represents the primary vector of institutional communication.
Tigor is included in the ANVUR list of scientific journals for CUN Areas 12 (Legal Sciences), 13 (Economic and Statistical Sciences) and 14 (Political and Social Sciences).
Mission and Objectives
Tigor proposes itself with the dual purpose of being both a learning tool and a knowledge communication instrument, combining theory and practice, teaching and research in an approach that considers the moments of scientific dissemination and educational support as inseparable. The journal originates from the Master's program educational experience, where the communication problem is addressed from multiple observation points, and aims to position itself as a practical tool available to students, researchers and professionals who wish to address the complexity of contemporary communication.
The Journal aims to investigate the varied sectors of communication, with particular attention to institutional communication, legal methodology and legal argumentation, promoting the study, within a more general reflection on the communicative phenomenon, of philosophical foundations, methods and logical procedures of the jurist, techniques of drafting and interpreting legal texts as well as the development of research on their computer applications in various sectors of law. In approaching communication themes, the journal also develops socio-legal, philosophical investigations and examines the relationship between law and literature.
Tigor also aims to combine, in an interdisciplinary perspective, diverse competencies and opens itself to dialogue with disciplines ranging from social, political, legal and economic sciences to philosophical, historical and literary studies.
