Editorial Policy

Tigor adopts a rigorous editorial policy based on the highest international standards of scientific quality. All contributions are subject to a double-blind peer review process, which guarantees mutual anonymity between authors and reviewers and ensures objective and impartial evaluation of manuscripts.

The journal is diamond open access, meaning all content is freely accessible without economic or technical barriers for readers, while no publication costs or submission evaluation fees are charged to authors (Article Processing Charges, Article Submission Charges). Authors retain the copyright of their contributions and grant the Journal the right of first publication.

Tigor publishes its articles under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (BY-NC-ND 4.0). The license allows free download, sharing and distribution of material for educational, research and non-commercial purposes. Publication Frequency

The Journal is published biannually (2 issues per year).

The deadlines for submitting contributions with reference to issue composition are as follows:

  • Issue 2 (current publication year): from February 1 to April 15
  • Issue 1 (following publication year): from July 1 to October 1

Publication Process

Tigor exclusively accepts original manuscripts not previously published.

Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is not permitted.

Manuscripts submitted within the submission deadlines (see Publication Frequency) according to the Author Guidelines and previously anonymized, are preliminarily evaluated by the Editorial Committee according to their order of arrival, to verify their scientific relevance and compliance with editorial guidelines. Contributions that pass this first selection are sent to at least one external, independent reviewer expert in the specific thematic area chosen by the Scientific Director in consultation with the Editorial Committee. Authors are informed of the decision on admission to review within 30 days of manuscript submission.

The review process has a maximum duration of 6 weeks; the Journal commits to promptly communicate the outcomes to authors along with the publication decision, as well as any delays in the review process.

The final decision on publication rests with the Scientific Director (even in case of conflicting reviewer opinions), who relies indispensably on reviewer judgment as well as the Editorial Committee's opinion.

Author Guidelines

The Journal accepts manuscripts in Italian and British English.

Within the submission opening periods (see Publication Frequency), manuscripts, already anonymized and compliant with Editorial Standards ([insert editorial standards link]), must be sent to the Editorial Secretariat (redazioneTigor@scfor.units.it) as attachments in .doc(x)/odt format provided with metadata (title/subtitle), abstract and keywords. Author metadata (name, surname, profession and email address) must be indicated in the email body text or as a .pdf attachment. In case of co-authored manuscripts, the "corresponding author" must also be indicated.

For manuscripts in Italian, inclusion of English translation of abstract and keywords is required, as provided by the Editorial Standards.

Editorial Standards are available in Italian: international authors may request the corresponding English version from the Editorial Office.

Ethics Code

Tigor adheres to the most rigorous international ethical standards for scientific publications, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the requirements established by ANVUR for Italian scientific journals. The journal has adopted a comprehensive Ethics Code that regulates all aspects of editorial activity, from managing conflicts of interest to preventing plagiarism.
