Abstract
Il Convegno Dal gender mainstreaming all’approccio
intersezionale. Nuove sfide per gli organismi di
parità universitari, svoltosi a Genova dal 3 al 4 maggio
2018, ha illustrato il ruolo degli organismi di parità che,
inizialmente limitato alle discriminazioni di genere,
si è notevolmente ampliato nel corso del tempo fino ad
includere il contrasto ad ogni forma di discriminazione,
il contrasto alla violenza e la promozione del benessere
organizzativo. Inoltre, è stata messa in luce l’importanza
del concetto di intersezionalità come strumento teorico in
grado di spiegare la situazione di particolare svantaggio
vissuta da chi si trova esposto a più fattori discriminatori
che agiscono tra loro simultaneamente.
The meeting Dal gender mainstreaming all’approccio intersezionale. Nuove sfide per gli organismi di parità universitari (From Gender Mainstreaming to an Intersectional Approach. New Challenges for Equality Bodies in Academia), held in Genoa from 3-4 May 2018, explained how the task of the Italian equality bodies has changed over the years. In the past, they only dealt with discrimination against women, but in the course of the years their role became more and more important and nowadays involves all types of discrimination, including the prevention of violence and the promotion of organizational well-being. Moreover, the meeting provided the opportunity to discuss the intersectionality approach as a useful theoretical method for better understanding the disadvantage of those subjects who are exposed to an array of simultaneously-interacting discriminatory factors.
