L’esperienza del Piano Lauree Scientifiche - Chimica presso l’Università di Trieste
Guidelines and criteria used to define the orientation activities for students and teacher training in upper secondary schools are explained. The activities were developed within the framework of the “Sub-project Chemistry” of the Piano Lauree Scientifiche, which was implemented at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Trieste and spread throughout the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The points that have been considered essential were: students learn science by performing experiments hands-on, teachers must be able to explain these experiments, once they have performed them personally. Finally, it is important to highlight the interdisciplinary aspects that cross several disciplines from chemistry to physics, to biology and geology, emphasizing that the description of observables is made through mathematics.
