«Nigh-snuggling dark narrow»: the genre of lullaby in the poetry of Elizabeth Mnatsakanova

Abstract
This article analyzes in detail how the lullaby genre is used by Elizaveta Mnatsakanova (1922-2019), a unique neo-avant-garde author who combines musical and poetic languages in her practices. Three cycles are considered (≪Lullabies to Mozart≫, ≪Lullabies to the wrinkled≫ and ≪Lullabies to the dead≫), which make up the first part of the collection ≪The Book of Childhood≫. The article shows how the author interacts with folklore, as well as the author’s Russian and Western European poetic and musical traditions, interpreting sleep as death, a state of transition from being to non-being. Also, much attention is paid to the ways of performing the text as a musical and the configuration of the space created in the analyzed poetic cycles.
В настоящей статье анализиру- ется функционирование жанра колыбельной в поэзии Елизаветы Мнацакановой (1922-2019) - уни- кального неоавангардного автора, совмещающего в своих практиках музыкальный и поэтический языки. Рассматриваются три цикла (≪Колы- бельные Моцарту≫, ≪Колыбельные сморщенным≫ и ≪Колыбельные мертвеньким≫), составляющие первую часть сборника ≪Книга дет- ства≫. В статье показано, как автор взаимодействует с фольклорными, а также авторскими русскими и за- падноевропейскими поэтическими и музыкальными традициями, осмысляя сон как смерть, состояние перехода от бытия к небытию. Кро- ме того внимание уделено способам исполнения текста как музыкаль- ного и конфигурации пространства, создаваемого в анализируемых стихотворных циклах.
