Abstract
Dubravka Ugrešić has always been inspired by Russian literature, especially the avant-garde. The main character of her novel The Fox (Lisica) is Boris Pilnyak, Russian writer of the first half of the 20th century, whose work, A story on how stories are made, seems to give Ugrešić the basis of the main plot line. However, a significant moment in Pilnyak’s story is his encounter with the Japanese culture. Ugrešić interweaves the original elements of Pilnyak’s prose with her own impressions on Japan and on Japanese authors. Thus, the novel follows the life of a Russian author who came in contact with the Japanese culture so that Ugrešić could better examine the culture of nuance, dimness, touch and shadows. The Japanese cultural code thus becomes the model of style and narration in this fascinating novel.
Proza Dubravke Ugrešić je oduvek pronalazila inspiraciju u ruskoj, osobito avangardnoj literaturi. U svih šest poglavlja romana Lisica (2017) autorka se vraća na pitanje koje je sadržano u naslovu proze Pripovijest o tome kako se stvaraju pripovijesti ruskog pisca prve polovine XX veka, Borisa Piljnjaka. Važan deo Piljnjakove priče – osim pitanja o tome kako nastaju priče – jeste autorov susret sa japanskom kulturom. Postupku neprikrivenog, sasvim otvorenog korišćenja tuđeg teksta, autorka je dodala još jedan važan tehnički, konstruktivni segment: ona ispituje, oživljava i u tekst utkiva sop stveni doživljaj čitavog niza geografski udaljenih prostora od Rusije do Japana, ali će u romanu čitalac sresti vrlo detaljne slike Napulja, Torina, Milana, Londona, središnje Amerike, te rodne Hrvatske. Te slike gradova i krajeva sa svih meridijana sveta u romanu su prikazane kao autentični doživljaji naratora, a kritički su fokusirane na stanje u književnosti, kulturi, savremenom društvu
