Abstract
Alethic pluralism is the view according to which there are many ways of being true. This approach represents the most recent development and innovation in contemporary philosophy of truth, contrasting with both monistic and deflationary positions. The main idea behind this conception is that truth can consist of different properties in different areas of discourse. This thesis has been articulated in various ways, generating a range of theoretical proposals. This article presents the basic principles and main articulations of alethic pluralism, briefly discussing some of the objections that have been raised against it.
Il pluralismo aletico sostiene che vi siano molti modi di essere vero. L'approccio rappresenta il più recente sviluppo e novità nella filosofia della verità contemporanea, contrapponendosi sia a posizioni moniste che deflazioniste. L’idea principale di tale concezione è che la verità possa consistere in proprietà diverse in aree di discorso differenti. Questa tesi è stata articolata in vari modi, generando un ventaglio di proposte teoriche. In questo articolo si presentano i principi di base e le articolazioni principali del pluralismo aletico, discutendo brevemente alcune delle obiezioni che gli sono state mosse.
