Abstract
A potential for emancipation is actually activated by capitalism; however, it has to never be fully accomplished, in order to serve as an instrument of selection and subjugation. The author is not sure therefore that reading recent movements against discrimination, violence or war as articulations of a labor movement – as Fraser does – really respects their nature or enhances their strength. We should be very careful not to treat their hypothetical economic value as the only condition for them to be meaningful and worthy of being fulfilled, preserved and respected. Because that’s exactly the way capitalism works.
