Abstract
L’Istituto Geografico Militare, Organo Cartografico di Stato e Struttura Geografica
della Difesa, nell’ultimo decennio ha rivoluzionato la propria struttura geoproduttiva
ed operativa, con totale ammodernamento dei locali, della strumentazione
informatica e tramite una profonda riqualificazione del personale, per far fronte
alle moderne esigenze tecniche, operative ed istituzionali.
Tra i risultati più significativi occorre sottolineare la nuova Rete Dinamica Nazionale,
costituita con modernissima tecnologia “RTK” (“Real Time Kinematic”), oltre
all’elaborazione di un software con creazione di algoritmi di conversione delle tre
reti di interesse: “Roma 40”, “ETRF89” e “WGS84”, nel campo della geodesia. Mentre
in quello geoproduttivo è stata avviata la realizzazione dei DB geotopocartografici
(DB: 25K; 50K; 250; 500 e 1000K) e di un DTM ad altissima risoluzione, che
prevede anche l’utilizzazione dei geodati delle Regioni, grazie all’Accordo
Stato/Regioni/Enti Locali, con stoccaggio finale (“Warehouse”) e messa in rete dei
geodati, a favore degli Enti pubblici, e civili e militari.
Di notevole spessore tecnico – operativo sono, altresì, le attività di supporto in
ambito Difesa, svolte con la creazione dei nuclei “GeoTacPrint”, l’IGM infatti opera
nei Balcani, in Albania, Libano e Afghanistan, fornendo geoinformazioni mirate,
altamente specialistiche e prodotte in tempo reale, ai Comandi ed Unità impegnate
all’estero. Nonché la produzione MGCP (Multinational Geospatial Coproduction
Program), con copertura mondiale di dati vettoriali ad alta risoluzione (50/100K).
Di alta valenza istituzionale sono, infine, le attività geotopocartografiche a favore
dei progetti “PST” (Piano Straordinario di Telerilevamento), “SIGLI” (Sistema Informativo
Geospaziale Logistico Integrato); “USD” (Unità di Sperimentazione Digitale)
e “MIT” (Ministero Innovazioni Tecnologiche).
The Italian Military Geographic Institute (I.G.M.I.), National Mapping Agency and Defense Geographic Structure, in the last decade has revolutionized its operational and geoproductive structure, by a full modernization of its premises, software&hardware instruments and by a deep personnel technical re – qualification, in order to face the current technical needs, both operational and institutional. Among the most meaningful achieved results, have to be stressed the new National Dynamic Net, built up with the highly modern “RTK” (“Real Time Kinematic”) technology, besides the implementation of a software with converting algorithms of the three geodetic nets of interest: “Roma 40”, “ETRF89” and “WGS84”, in the geodetic field . While as for the geoproduction, it has been started the realization of the geotopocartographic DBs ((DB: 25K; 50K; 250; 500 e 1000K) and of a high resolution DTM, which envisages also the use of the geodata produced by the Regions, thanks to the National Agreement Local Authorities/Regions/State, with final data storage (“Warehouse”) and online distribution, in favor of public entities, both civil and military. Of highly technical and operational level are, besides, the supporting activities within our Defense Ministry, carried out by the creation of the “GeoTacPrint” teams, that are currently operating in the Balkans, in Albania, Lebanon and Afghanistan, distributing specific, highly specialized, real-time produced geoinformation, to Units and Commands deployed in theatre. And the MGCP (Multinational Geospatial Coproduction Program) production, with a global coverage of high resolution vector data (50/100K). Also of highly institutional value are, finally, the geotopocartographic activities in favor of the national projects: “PST” (Remote Sensing Extraordinary Plan), “SIGLI” (Integrated Logistic Geospatial Informative System); “USD” (Digital Experimentation Unit) and “MIT” (Technological Innovation Ministry).
