Abstract
This contribution reports on the activities carried out to launch a multidisciplinary research project dedicated to the study, restoration and valorisation of two Blaeu’s geographical globes from the first half of the 17th centu¬ry owned by the University of Genoa. The activity of the working group at the moment has mainly concerned the attempt to reconstruct their biography and to define their cultural-historical value in the context of studies on the history of cartography but also with respect to the geo-cartographic heritage of Genoese academic geography. Specific attention was paid to the study of the artistic-iconographic features of the two globes.
Il presente contributo rende conto delle attività svolte per l’avvio di un progetto di ricerca multidisciplinare dedicato allo studio, al restauro e alla valorizzazione di due globi geografici blaviani della prima metà del Seicento di proprietà dell’Uni¬versità di Genova. L’attività del gruppo di lavoro ha al momen¬to riguardato principalmente il tentativo di ricostruire la loro biografia e di definirne il valore storico-culturale nel conte¬sto degli studi di storia della cartografia ma anche rispetto al patrimonio geo-cartografico della Geografia accademica ge¬novese. Specifica attenzione è stata riservata allo studio dei caratteri artistico-iconografici dei due globi.
