Abstract
To adapt several scenes from Soviet motion pictures and some popular Russian songs so that they would reproduce a product of the French cultural world of the 60s and the 70s. That’s the challenge taken up by Ya tebya lyublyu – Je t’aime (Shavkero, Semichev, Kim, Russia, 2023, 56’), a film which combines the lightness of entertainment with a high level of (self-)awareness. Playing on stereotypes, this multimedial product places itself between two languages and two cultures, hence between multiple points of view. The aim of this work is an analysis of the movie through the lens of translation, to bring to the surface the mechanisms of this operation by which the Russians make fun of “the other” as much as they make fun of themselves.
Riproporre una serie di scene tratte da film sovietici e di popolari canzoni russe come fossero nate nell’universo culturale francese degli anni Sessanta e Settanta. Questa la sfida raccolta da Ja tebja ljublju – Je t’aime (Šavkero, Semičev, Kim, Russia, 2023, 56’), un film in cui la leggerezza di un prodotto di intrattenimento giocato sugli stereotipi si accompagna a un alto tasso di (auto)consapevolezza, ponendosi a cavallo tra due lingue, due culture e quindi tra molteplici punti di vista. Chiave di lettura privilegiata per portare in superficie i meccanismi su cui si basa questa operazione – con cui i russi ridono tanto dell’altro quanto di loro stessi – saranno le categorie dell’analisi traduttologica.
