Poetry Free Europe: Notes on Closeness (of/to) the Recent History of Europe in the Poetry of Elena Fanailova

Abstract
The article examines various approaches to the images of the European borderland in the poetic texts of Elena Fanaylova: both within the framework of contemporary Russian history and in a broader context that includes the civil conflict in the countries of the former Yugoslavia and discussions about Central Europe. Images of Central Europe turned out to be productive for Fanaylova’s historical and political optics. Particular attention in the article is paid to the optics of proximity, which allows us to clarify the place of the lyrical “I” in the historical and political circumstances reconstructed by Fanaylova.
В статье рассматриваются различ- ные подходы к образам европей- ского пограничья в поэтических текстах Елены Фанайловой: как в рамках современной истории России, так и в более широком контексте, включающем граждан- ский конфликт в странах бывшей Югославии и дискуссии о Централь- ной Европе. Образы Центральной Европы оказались продуктивными для историко-политической оптики Фанайловой. Особое внимание в статье уделяется оптике близости, позволяющей прояснить место ли- рического «я» в реконструируемых Фанайловой историко-политиче- ских обстоятельствах
