Abstract
Il contributo esamina il problema della presenza di Dioniso
imberbe nei contesti sacri di Atene durante il V e il
IV secolo a.C. L’esame della documentazione porta alla
conclusione che la comparsa del tipo non possa essere rialzata
oltre l’inizio del IV secolo a.C. Essa tende a escludere
l’esistenza di agàlmata attici di Dioniso imberbe in
età classica, durante la quale non è stato possibile individuare
testimonianze indirette riconducibili a forme di
culto del dio in tale foggia.
The paper investigates the theme of the youthful, unbearded
Dionysus in religious contexts of Athens during the 5th and
4th Centuries BC. A thorough examination of the whole
existing evidence leads the author to state that this type
cannot predate the beginning of the 4th Century BC. She
excludes that agàlmata of unbearded Dionysus have existed
in Attica during the Classical age. Investigation did not
allow to identify any indirect evidence of a worship of the
god in this form.
