Abstract
This abstract summarizes a Slovenian-language dissertation on comparative literature, focusing on the shift from influence studies to intertextuality. The article covers the three models of textuality (influence, immanentism, reception/poststructuralism), contrasting influence with intertextuality, and the dissertation's argument for the latter's broader applicability in comparative literature.This dissertation examines the evolution of comparative literature from a focus on influence to intertextuality, arguing that the latter offers a more comprehensive framework. Three models of textuality are analyzed: the influence model (emphasizing causality and authorial intention), immanentism (prioritizing textual autonomy), and the reception/poststructuralist model (highlighting reader agency and the text as a network of citations). The author contrasts the unidirectional nature of influence with the multidirectional relationships inherent in intertextuality, ultimately advocating for intertextuality's superior capacity to analyze textual relationships in comparative literature.
