Abstract
Beyond the border. Trieste: sogni e ripartenze dei profughi dell’est Europa a Trieste (1950-1956). Thoughts from an Exhibition After the Second World War, the Risiera di San Sabba, as other European concentration camps, was converted into a reception centre for foreign refugees. In the case of the Risiera, most refugees came from the Yugoslavia of Tito. Photographic exhibition Beyond the Border. Trieste: sogni e ripartenze dei profughi dell’est Europa a Trieste (1950-1956), opened in the middle of October in the Sala delle commemorazioni del memoriale, gives an account of the life within this and other refugee camps in and around Trieste.
