Abstract
Philosophy as Orientation. Giving a New Meaning to the Earth is articulated along two convergent axes of reflection: on the one hand, it questions the status and future of philosophy, emphasizing its intrinsic ethical vocation and its capacity to serve as orientation. On the other, it reflects on the concept of nature and the overcoming of the conception that opposes the human subject to the natural object, moving toward a processual vision that unites the spiritual and the material. The encounter between these two dimensions occurs—at least potentially—with the Anthropocene, understood as that event (Ereignis) in which human beings and nature realize their full co-appropriation (Zusammengehörigkeit). From here, it becomes possible for human beings to recognize themselves as a natural force and become aware of their own potential, which can be freely oriented toward collaboration with natural processes.
