Abstract
Central Europe has a rich tradition in Slav studies, though historical challenges have often hindered collaboration among scholars. The Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori at the University of Trieste aims to foster connections among young researchers through its publication series Slavica tergestina. This inaugural volume features contributions from emerging scholars at the Universities of Budapest and Trieste, born from years of cooperation between their Russian departments. The initiative seeks to promote dialogue, shared inquiry, and academic friendship across borders, with plans to expand into Slovene, Croatian, and Serbian studies. Special thanks are extended to those who supported the project’s development and editorial work.
