Abstract
The objective of the production carried out by the Italian Military Geographic Institute is to give a greater number of users the possibility to manage geographical data easily with the most common GIS software available on the market. The same applies to the excursionist and tourist cartography What can be referred to as the deep conceptual transformation within the cartographic production enables us to have more information when compared to analog cartography One of the main objectives of the IGM) is to create a DATABASE in which one can find data that can be used in the format the user wants. For the future IGMs wants to improve the technics of generalization of cartography at a big scale to obtain minimum scale cartography. It will be very useful for IGM to have some cartographic products easily.
