CONSIDERAZIONI IN MERITO ALLE PROSPETTIVE FUTURE DELLA CARTOGRAFIA

Abstract

Partendo dall’attuale situazione della cartografia con i suoi diversi formati, modalità di produzione, divulgazione e visualizzazione, totalmente cambiati rispetto al passato per via dell’introduzione dei GIS e alla luce del sempre crescente utilizzo delle immagini da telerilevamento, vengono svolte alcune osservazioni sul futuro della cartografia e sulla cartografia del futuro. Scopo del lavoro è quello di avviare un dibattito per suscitare risposte da molteplici punti di vista.

Starting from the present situation of cartography with its different format, production, diffusion and display methods, completely changed compared with the past because of the introduction of GIS and in the light of the increasing use of remote sensing images, we present some comments on the prospects of cartography and on future cartography. This article suggests to start a debate in order to have answers from different points of view.
