Abstract
This article addresses mathematics and science teachers in a middle school. It contains remarks and reflections on the aims of teaching chemistry in classes of learners aged between eleven and fourteen years old, according to the national aims for the curriculum. It provides examples of teaching lab activities conducted by the teacher. Students observe phenomena, make simple experiments, formulate hypotheses and create models. Thus, they can learn the properties and growth of crystals and study the particles moving on a lattice. Moreover, there are many references to mathematics in these lessons. It is also possible to propose this experience in separate modules.
