Schemi di 'accessus' a Virgilio

Abstract

L’articolo esamina i diversi schemi introduttivi ('accessus') all’opera virgiliana testimoniati dalla tarda Antichità al tardo Medioevo. È discusso, in particolare, il problema dell’origine dell’'accessus' che si legge nel commento serviano, e il suo rapporto con quello di Elio Donato e co la tradizione dell’esegesi di Teocrito.

Virgil’s ancient and medieval commentaries usually have introductory parts called 'accessus', in which some topics about the poet and his works were considered. In the article, the various types of accessus are examined, with particular attention being paid to the problem of the origin of the one provided by Servius and on its relation with Aelius Donatus’s and the tradition of Theocritus’s exegesis
