Abstract
Il contributo intende approfondire la diffusione delle ciste cordonate bronzee, una particolare classe di manufatti presenti in Italia nord-orientale a partire dalla prima età del Ferro. Questi oggetti, la cui origine è da identificare nell’Europa centro-settentrionale, conoscono un’ampia diffusione a sud delle Alpi soprattutto in area padana, nell’area della cultura di Golasecca e nel Piceno dove, tra VI e IV sec. a.C., si sviluppano botteghe locali che rielaborano i modelli di origine nord-alpina. In Veneto queste sono note principalmente in corredi funerari di grande prestigio, dove spesso sono associate ad altri materiali di importazione, dato che contribuisce a riconoscere in questo oggetto un prodotto di lusso che veniva acquistato e/o scambiato sotto forma di dono dall’élite delle comunità.
The paper aims to investigate the diffusion of bronze cordoned cists, a particular class of artefacts present in north-eastern Italy since the early Iron Age. These vases, whose origin is to be identified in central-northern Europe, were widely diffused in the south of the Alps, especially in Po Valley, area of the Golasecca culture and Piceno region where, between 6th and 4th centuries B.C., local workshops developed. In Veneto region, bronze cists are mainly found in grave goods of great prestige, where are often associated with other imported materials. This evidence contributes to the recognition of this type of object as luxury product that was purchased and/or exchanged by the élite of the community as a particular form of gift.
