Affitti turistici a breve termine nelle città d’arte. La “airificazione” di Napoli e i suoi impatti

Abstract

Il lavoro indaga il fenomeno dei fitti turistici brevi o short-term rentals (STR) attraverso uno specifico caso di studio riferito a Napoli. Due i principali aspetti analizzati: 1) la spazializzazione del fenomeno Airbnb a scala suburbana; 2) gli impatti che l’offerta di STR produce o, in prospettiva, rischia di produrre nelle diverse aree della città. L’intento è quello di comprendere, al di là della retorica della “condivisione”, come si distribuiscono sul territorio urbano costi e benefici della “airificazione” ed in particolare fino a che punto il turismo collaborativo possa essere sostenibile in una città di periferie come Napoli.

The paper investigates the phenomenon of the touristic short-term rentals (STR) through a specific case study referring to Naples. Two main aspects are considered: 1) the spatialization of the Airbnb phenomenon on a suburban scale; 2) the impacts of STR on different areas of the city. The intent is to understand, beyond the rhetoric of the “sharing” economy, how the costs and benefits of “aerification” are distributed in the urban space and particularly to what extent collaborative tourism can be sustainable in a city of inner peripheries like Naples.
