Abstract
The passing away of Prof. Claudio Venza has left a significant void within the academic community, but not only there. His dedication as a lecturer at the University of Trieste did not go unnoticed; the majority of those who had the privilege to attend his lectures, acquired knowledge that was fundamental to their educational journey. Anyway, his classes extended far beyond the classroom. He was not only a lecturer but also an interlocutor, commentator, chronicler, and ultimately, a confidant whom, from a scientific standpoint (but not limited to it), one could always rely on. His memory today stands as a certainty: that of having cherished his advice, observations, and even criticisms that enable us, to some extent, to be good professionals and better individuals..
La scomparsa del prof. Claudio Venza ha lasciato un vuoto importante tra la comunità accademica, ma non solo. Il suo impegno come docente presso l’Università degli Studi di Trieste non è passato inosservato; anzi, la maggior parte di coloro che hanno – abbiamo – avuto la fortuna di assistere alle sue lezioni, ha acquisito una conoscenza che è stata fondamentale nel processo formativo. Ma il suo insegnamento è andato ben oltre. Ha saputo essere docente, interlocutore, opinionista, cronista ed anche, in fin dei conti, un confidente su cui, da un punto di vista scientifico ma non solo, potevi sempre contare. Il suo ricordo è oggi una certezza: quella di aver saputo far tesoro dei suoi consigli, delle sue osservazioni ed anche delle sue critiche che ci permettono, un po’ a tutti, di essere buoni professionisti e migliori persone
