Abstract
The paper offers a concise report of the activities carried out in the context of the XI edition of the SEA (Arpinate Summer School), dedicated to the theme War in Europe in the XXI Century. With a pronounced multidisciplinary approach, war is addressed in its complexity and with reference to the heterogeneous range of problems it engenders: in relation to the consequences - on the economic, legal and moral dimensions - as well as to the problem of explaining the causes of a phenomenon which is absurd at first sight; and finally in relation to the possibilities that a rethinking of the forms and substance of law may prelude to its definitive overcoming, or at least to a drastic downsizing.
Lo scritto offre una sintetica relazione delle attività svolte nell’ambito dell’XI edizione della SEA (Scuola Estiva Arpinate), dedicata al tema La guerra in Europa nel XXI secolo. Con un approccio marcatamente multidisciplinare, la guerra viene affrontata nella sua complessità e con riferimento all’eterogeneo ventaglio di problemi che essa pone: in relazione tanto alle sue conseguenze – sulle dimensioni economica, giuridica e morale – quanto al problema di offrire una spiegazione circa le cause di un fenomeno a prima vista assurdo, quanto infine alle possibilità che un ripensamento delle forme e della sostanza del diritto possa preludere al suo definitivo superamento, o quantomeno ad un drastico ridimensionamento.
