Abstract
The article discusses the specification pater Melampi, appended to Amythaon’s name, within the recipe for the malagma Amythaonis contained in chapter 42.8 of Cassius Felix’s De medicina. It is hypothesised that this mythological reference, hith¬erto considered authentic by the editors and scholars who have dealt with this passage, is instead the result of a gloss, interpolated into Cassius’ text, possibly attributable to a learned medieval annotator.
A proposito della ricetta del malagma Amythaonis contenuta del De medicina di Cassio Felice al capitolo 42.8, si ipotizza che il richiamo al mito fatto mediante la precisazione pater Melampi, apposta al nome Amythaon, considerata finora autentica dagli editori e dagli studiosi che si sono occupati di questo passo, sia invece frutto di una glossa, interpolata nel testo di Cassio, da attribuire forse ad un chiosatore dotto di età medievale.
