Abstract
Analysing the development of cities and regions has been one ' of the great social science tasks of the last century. The 1 analytical approach to urban systems modelling is very recent, however some complex models, named integrated land-use/ transport models, have been developed and used in ail over the world. However, these models do not stress the transport component, while they give much more importance to modelling land-use.
In this paper, simulated land-use interactions are relative to residential and economic activity location, based on behaviourally consistent accessibility measures (logsum variables) as well as potential demand for economic activities and available floor-space. Both "active" and "passive" accessibility have been defined and considered.
