La navigazione marittima ad alta velocità nel golfo di Napoli
(EUT Edizioni Università di Trieste, 1997)
    Carlucci, Fabio
The achievement of a higher speed is one of the most important characteristics of advanced vessel for passenger water transport. Nowadays the technological development of water transport has made possible to establish efficient water transport systems serving metropolitan areas. In the Gulf of Naples high speed water transport is very important for islands-mainland connection in this area, from an economic viewpoint, the market can be represented by an oligopolistic model. The increase of demand for urban water transport comes from the upgrading of quality level of the supply, from an adequate and articulated fare structure and from an efficient connection with other local transport services. In order to determine the level of customer satisfaction achieved by an urban water transport line can be used the "Frequency Delay" method that estimates the quality based upon the frequency of departures.

The paper explicates the basic tourist facilities and objective tourist predisposition of the Krapina-Zagorje county, as well as the level of traffic development in order to determine whether there are conditions needed for complementary relationship at all. Complementary is, namely, efficient only when both the tourist and traffic functions in a certain region are at a more advanced level of development, which has been stated as a fact in the concrete case. It should be pointed out that the study of the complementary level started from the premise that traffic is more in the function of the development of tourism than vice versa, which is only understandable since traffic presents an indispensable condition regarding tourism. Due to the relatively well distributed network, i.e. the density of roads and railway lines, a greater cooperation between these two transport methods has been initiated, which would intensify the integration of railway into the domestic tourist traffic, thus offering numerous contributions, out of which the ecological ones are of greatest importance for tourism and its sustainable development.

Principi per un modello di gravitazione portuale della clientela di un servizio di linea portacontainer
(EUT Edizioni Università di Trieste, 1997)
    Torbianelli, Vittorio
The aim of the following port choice model is to draw the borders of the geographical gravitational areas for the users of a deep sea container route. The service regularly calls first at the one port and then an another along the coast of a continental area. The port choice is a result of minimising a generalised cost function, in which both operational costs (depending on the distance) and financial costs (depending on the shipping time) are evaluated. The port choice are influenced by the kind of operation (import or export). In fact, for the same geographical point on the continent, the financial cost of importing through the first port called at is lower than that of importing through the second: this is because the ship arrives earlier. The opposite happens for exporting. By using analytical tools, the model distinguishes geographical zones in which imports pass through the first and exports through the second port called at on the route.
