Abstract: Among the multifarious coin issues of the Mongol Empire, silver-washed copper dirhams with Chinese characters不花 bu-hua and 課 ke, struck at Bukhara in the 60-s of the 13th century, undoubtedly raise particular interest. These coins, known for a long time, have been described or mentioned in many publications1; however, not all questions about them are clear yet.
