The metric is based on various input parameters such as the year period, the river slope, river depth, river currents, river bends, river width, etc. The main objective is to evidence reaches where navigation is more or less hampered and a guess on optimal vessel dimensions is derived. This navigability study was made in the framework of an innovative project to develop a fleet of small electric solar boats to promote the transport of passengers and load between various Achuar communities of Amazonia region (Ecuador and Peru). |
