Abstract
The portion of Adriatic coast which constitutes the contemporary country of Albania had a very important function to contro! communications between ltaly and the orientai part of the Roman Empire, as well as the Corcyre island, specially at the time of Caesar's dictature and of the Civil Wars' period after his death. The inscriptions of recently published Corpus des inscriptions latines d'Albanie bring us some reflections about the relations between Albanian portual epigraphy and the story of this dramatic period.
