ERAT OLIM
Etichs Declarations
Erat Olim. Nuovi materiali e contributi per la storia della narrativa greco-latina (EratOlimMC) is an annual international scientific journal. It constitutes the new series of "Materiali e contributi per la storia della narrativa greco-latina", a journal founded in the Seventies of the last century at the Institute of Latin Philology of the University of Perugia by prof. Luigi Pepe and stopped after the first four volumes and a collective volume in 1996. The EratOlimMC journal publishes, after evaluation, contributions sent to the editorial staff and/or discussed in the context of scientific meetings in Italy and abroad.
EratOlimMC aims to make unpublished contributions available to the community of scholars. The written paper is subjected to 'double-blind' peer review. The journal concerns topics relating to narrative and narratology relating to texts from the Greek, Latin, medieval-humanistic and Byzantine worlds and with openings, in terms of fortune and comparativism, to other modern literatures. These contributions are collected both in a printed volume (EUT ─ Edizioni Università di Trieste) and in electronic format, strictly open access, to allow maximum diffusion and availability to an increasingly wider audience.
The contributions, accompanied by abstracts in English and another modern language, may be in Italian, English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The copyright of the contributions belongs to EratOlimMC.
The publication of the journal is inspired by the code of ethics developed by COPE. Best Practice Guidelines for Journals Editors.
EratOlimMC uses an evaluation system of at least two anonymous referees, Italian and/or foreign, who formulate an opinion on the possibility of publishing the proposed contributions in relation to the originality of the contents, the methodological rigor and the correctness of the research. They can contribute suggestions to the author to improve the text, indicate any inconsistencies and report bibliographic additions. They are required to refuse to read contributions for which there may be conflicts of interest such as belonging to the same University, Department, research project. They have an obligation of confidentiality and are required to adequately justify their opinion to the editors. An anonymous third reviewer is used when disputes or disparities in judgment arise.
The decision to publish the proposed contributions lies with the editorial management (solely responsible for the choice) on the basis of the opinions formulated by the referees; if necessary, the management - as mentioned - reserves the right to request further consultations from referees or other scientific personalities of proven value. All editors have the obligation of confidentiality on the proposed contributions.
The authors are required to provide original contributions and to correctly specify the sources and texts quoted, as well as to indicate the attribution of the various parts in the case of multiple writers. Authors cannot submit the same text to more than one journal at the same time. Authors are required to report errors or inaccuracies found in their text to the editorial staff so that the necessary corrections can be made before printing and online publication.
The management of practices contrary to scientific integrity is ultimately the responsibility of the management which also includes initiatives regarding the supervision of the ethical aspects of research practices and the identification of methods suitable from time to time for the dissemination of the scientific debate following publication.
